Relieve pregnancy pain in Heusden
Webster certified care for pelvic pain, low back pain and tension between the shoulder blades during pregnancy
Is your pregnancy taking a toll on your back or pelvis?
Pregnancy changes the way load passes through your body, and it happens faster than most women expect. The ligaments around your pelvis soften, your ribcage widens, and your centre of gravity shifts forward. That change rarely stays in one place.
At Waterland Chiropractie Heusden, Matthew Barney D.C. treats pregnant women using the Webster Technique. He is certified for this by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.
Care is matched to the stage you have reached, and changes as the pregnancy progresses. You can book directly and no referral is needed.

Understanding pregnancy pain

What changes in your body:
Relaxin softens the ligaments around your pelvis to make room for the birth, which leaves the pelvis less stable
Weight builds at the front, deepening the curve in your lower back
Your ribcage widens and your upper body tips forward to keep you balanced
Load moves into the SI joints at the back of the pelvis and into the pubic bone
The muscles across your mid and upper back work harder to hold you upright
What we help with:
Pelvic pain and pelvic instability, often worse when standing up, climbing stairs or turning over in bed
Low back pain, the most common complaint during pregnancy
Pain radiating into the leg, a sharp or nagging line from the buttock down
Tension between the shoulder blades, which we see more often than most people expect
Tailbone pain, often after sitting for a while
What to expect at your visit:
A full intake covering your symptoms, your stage, previous pregnancies and the demands of your day
An examination of your pelvis, spine and the surrounding muscles
Treatment lying on your side, or on a table adapted for a pregnant abdomen
You are never asked to lie face down
We are glad to coordinate with your midwife or GP where that is useful
